Glass with other additional functions
Break-Resistant Glass
GEWE-safe® is laminated safety glass from SCHOLLGLAS, which offers increased resistance to mechanical attacks in different structures. As a breakthrough-resistant laminated glass variant, it meets resistance classes P6B to P8B according to DIN EN 356 and, in combination with window, door frames and façade profiles, defies burglary attempts, vandalism and targeted attacks with brute tools. In this way, GEWE-safe® becomes an indispensable element for modern building and personal protection. It is regularly used in banks, public authorities, jewelry stores, private residences or even in the driver’s cabs of buses, trains or security vehicles.
The high resistance of breakthrough-resistant laminated safety glass is a result of the glass thicknesses and film types (PVB) used. By changing the combination of the composite elements, the security level can be individually adjusted upwards so that it can also withstand targeted attacks with heavy objects such as hammers or axes.
Highlights
Increased level of protection for people and property against burglaries with typical tools
Despite the increased safety, there is hardly any compromise on the incidence of light
When further processed into insulating glass, no restrictions on thermal insulation or sun protection
Can be integrated into standard frame systems
