Glass
Insulating glass with sound insulation
In our densely populated world, noise is omnipresent: cars in rush hour traffic, jet jets heading for the nearby airport, the babble of voices in urban areas or early morning deliveries to the supermarket. Those who work shifts often find hardly a moment of real silence anyway. This is exactly where soundproof windows show their strengths – insulating glazing with laminated glass and, if necessary, sound-insulating films effectively shield noise immissions in our living space. With GEWE-therm® phon, SCHOLLGLAS offers a high-performance product solution. Their tailor-made structures follow the specific requirements on site and, in combination with the frame system, seal and building structure, reduce external noise by up to 54 dB. GEWE-therm® phon is particularly effective with asymmetrical glazing, as glass structures with different pane thicknesses absorb the sound waves of different frequency ranges particularly efficiently.
The difference in everyday life is enormous – less acoustic exposure means better sleep, higher concentration and a better quality of life. Soundproof windows are therefore becoming increasingly important, especially in cities, because they transform noise-exposed apartments and offices into oases of peace.
Good to know: Despite their special designs, the soundproofing structures of the GEWE-therm-phon® insulating glass allow excellent incidence of light, offer excellent thermal insulation and can also be combined with other desired properties of our functional glass.
