Glass
Insulating glass with break-through resistant function
In modern architecture, aesthetics and functionality merge into a single unit – large-scale glazing creates light-flooded rooms and opens up new design freedoms. But where transparency is required, security must not be neglected. Our breakthrough-resistant insulating glass, a high-performance combination of heat-insulating GEWE-therm® insulating glass and protective laminated safety glass (LSG), offer both: uncompromising burglary protection and tested fall protection – the latter for floor-to-ceiling windows or façade glazing on higher building floors.
Especially in construction projects with an increased need for protection – for example, for high-security areas, public buildings or exclusive commercial properties – glazing is in demand that meets both energy and safety requirements particularly reliably. Our glass structures are based on the applicable building law requirements and meet the relevant standards DIN EN 356 (attacks with impact tools or throwing bodies), DIN 18008, Part 4 (requirements for fall-resistant glazing), and DIN EN 1279 (requirements for the quality and long-term functionality of insulating glazing).
However, with breakthrough-resistant insulating glass from SCHOLLGLAS, you are not only opting for tested safety in accordance with the standard – but also for design freedom, sustainable efficiency and the highest quality “Made for Architecture”. Ideal for architects, builders, façade and window manufacturers who do not want to make any compromises.
Highlights
Highly thermally insulating GEWE-therm® insulating glass (in accordance with DIN EN 1279) combined with breakthrough-resistant laminated safety glass (LSG)
Breakthrough resistance according to DIN EN 356: available in resistance classes (P6B to P8B)
Fall protection according to DIN 18008-4: Safe use with floor-to-ceiling glazing and window surfaces above the ground floor
Can be individually combined with additional functions such as sun protection, sound insulation, self-cleaning coatings or privacy screens
