Base glass
White glass
Low-iron oxide white glass is a special float glass variant that is characterized by particularly high transparency and color neutrality. In contrast to normal float glass, which has a slight coloured shimmer, especially at the cut edges, the iron content in the raw material is deliberately minimised with low-iron oxide white glass. This is done through a special selection and preparation of the raw materials. This significantly reduces the unwanted color cast. White glass has an iron oxide content of less than 200 ppm (parts per million). The manufacturing process requires precise control of the melt composition to achieve the desired optical purity. Due to its excellent light transmission and aesthetic properties, low-iron oxide white glass is widely used in architectural, design and high-end glazing, where pristine colour rendering and maximum clarity are required.
