Switchable glass
In addition to mobile sliding walls, switchable glass offers another flexible solution for modern interior design – here the room element remains in place. For this purpose, the opaque-white, light-diffusing privacy screen of the surfaces can be transformed into transparent transparency at the touch of a button. For offices, meeting rooms or private living areas, the smart glasses enable an open interior design without having to sacrifice privacy. For example, the freely visible visitor room becomes a discreet meeting room. In the light-diffusing state, the matt surface can also serve as a projection surface for multimedia presentations. It can also be used in damp rooms, for example for toilet cubicles or as a partition between bathroom and bedroom, which underlines the versatility of this innovative technology.
The function is based on a special liquid crystal technology: without electrical voltage, the crystals are disordered, so that the glass appears milky and opaque. When voltage is applied, the crystals align and the disk becomes almost transparent. With the help of a dimmer, the transparency can even be controlled individually and thus the degree of transparency can be flexibly adjusted.
Good to know: The films can be combined with any type of glass, allowing for a wide range of indoor and outdoor applications.
