A modern design highlight of contemporary interior design

Trains and trains

Efficient, sustainable and with a touch of freedom, trains connect places, people and dreams. Our contribution to travelling by rail: unobstructed views of wide landscapes in the window, as well as modern glass interiors on a large number of functional elements in high-speed, regional trains and in underground and light rail vehicles.

What sounds unspectacular is on the contrary high-end: For example, the rubber-framed or framed insulating glass side windows of high-speed and regional trains are given their special shape by CNC water jet, the mounting adhesives disappear behind elegant edge enamels or decorative prints, and become insensitive to vandalism with a scratch-resistant foil. In many trains, a microscopically fine laser structure is also inserted into the sun protection layer of the insulating glass, which allows mobile phone waves from travelers’ smartphones to pass undisturbed.

In the event of an emergency, defined side windows are optionally equipped with a new emergency stop and entry system, once again developed in-house by SCHOLLGLAS, which allows passengers or emergency services to access the interior of the car without tools in the event of an accident. Special service: The standard-compliant bonding of the panes is carried out by specially trained bonding specialists.

The glass in the interior also offers a lot in terms of design and function – passengers will (hopefully) never fathom their safety-relevant aspects. For example, special fire protection glass GEWE-fire® fire protection glass separates defined sections between the wagons. The glass luggage racks made of GEWE-dur®, optionally with attractive decors, are just as resistant to destruction thanks to scratch protection film as the safety mirrors in the on-board toilets, which are made of hardened GEWE-safe® mirror glass and equipped with shatter protection film on the back.

Not to forget: the 5 to 10 mm thick, robust partition wall panels made of ESG / LSG in the interior of trains and trams also have the necessary resistance for many years of use in open-plan public cars.

A treat at the end: You are particularly well informed by looking at the particularly anti-reflective lenses of the destination displays – because they almost disappear visually due to the special AR coating.
