Therefore, high demands are placed on the design of driver’s cabs and driver’s cabs: The glazed pulpits protect the vehicle drivers from wind and weather, heat and cold, sunlight, noise and dust – sometimes even stone chips. And with large-format front and side windows, roof hatches and rear windows, they ensure the best possible view on all sides.
As different as the areas of application and challenges of excavators, forklifts, tractors and snow groomers are, this also applies to the structure of the glasses. Mostly it is safety glass – LSG and ESG – but also special insulating glass structures made of lightweight glass that are used here. More and more often, free-form lenses are found on vehicles that are adapted to the design and construction of the commercial vehicle.
