Noise
Along railway lines and fast roads: Where heavily frequented traffic routes run, the peace and quiet in the adjacent residential buildings or the nature crossed becomes a luxury good. Noise and privacy are a sensitive issue, especially when the environment changes so much over the years that a structural measure against noise becomes necessary.
Glass noise protection elements effectively reflect the driving noise of trains and road traffic, and are always used when, for example, light is desired in the case of very high noise barriers or the landscape behind the noise barrier is to remain visible. The transparent material offers travellers and residents an all-round view: cars entering from the side of motorway entrances can also be noticed earlier.
In the public sector, the transparent elements are constructed as laminated safety glass made of 2 x 6 to 10 mm ESG – toughened safety glass in comparable dimensions is only used for very low walls. To prevent bird collisions and as an attractive structure, appropriate designs are usually applied to the lenses.
