In addition to the high proportion of wood, the glass used plays a central role in the material mix of sauna and infrared cabins: functionally, they are a thermally insulating and mechanically robust part of the outer shell. Visually, too, the glass surfaces are highly relevant building elements that play a significant role in determining the look and feel. In this way, they create the sauna’s view of nature – possibly to the swimming pond or to the home wellness oasis; this is the main reason why the fronts of higher-quality cabins are often made entirely of glass floor-to-ceiling. In addition, with its special aesthetics of clear lines, reflection, transparency and refraction of light, the material offers a fascinating, modern contrast to the original, cosy wood of the sauna interior. Due to their ease of cleaning, glasses in saunas and infrared cabins are also the first choice from a hygienic point of view.

Depending on the location of use – as an indoor sauna cabin or as a garden sauna – ESG glass (standard: 6 to 8 mm) or 2-fold insulating glass made of ESG is installed for windows and doors.
