The panes look just as good as eye-catching advertising space in the corporate design or logo space for self-confident brands: the rooms are permanently upgraded and even enlarged by a dimension that can go far beyond the possibilities of reality.

The large-scale glass pictures are created using digital printing with ceramic inks, which are applied impressively and precisely to the flat glass. Depending on the place of use, substructure and size of the glass, the material has a thickness of 5 to 12 mm, and is produced as float glass, ESG or laminated safety glass. With glued-on muntins and in the frame, the illusion of the loft window out into the industrial quarter becomes perfect.

Picture frames with and without frames

Photos, art prints, documents, certificates, or even graphics and children’s pictures look particularly expressive and valuable in a picture frame behind glass. A frameless clip frame directs the focus to the essentials – a wooden, plastic or aluminium frame, on the other hand, encloses the exhibit with seriousness, supports the visual tonality of what is shown or becomes part of the total work of art.

The glass variants for picture frames with real glass are normal clear glass and white glass with or without anti-reflective coating. The lenses, which are available from a thickness of 3 mm, protect the images equally from dust, dirt, contact and water splashes. White glass is somewhat lighter and ensures a more colour-accurate view with a reduced proportion of green in the material.

The optional, interference-optically anti-reflective coating of the GEWE-pure® vision glass type makes the lenses almost invisible to the viewer – reflections of the sun’s rays or room lighting are reduced to less than 0.6%. Incidentally, another property of the scratch-resistant coating is particularly interesting for museums: it contains a UV filter of about 70 percent, which effectively prevents the yellowing of the exhibits and the fading of the colors.
