The fascination of high-gloss, flawlessly smooth surfaces and precise edges that absorb the light in the room, reflect, scatter and refract it: it is the visual appeals of glass that immediately lend value and elegance to many buildings and objects in our everyday lives. So it is hardly surprising that kitchens, bedroom and living room furniture with glazed fronts, side panels and support plates are very popular.

Here, too, it is the immense adaptability of the glass types used – from standard float glass to extra-white glass to ESG – which, painted or printed on the back, can be matched to the colour and style of the piece of furniture, or simply provide the existing wood and plastic surfaces as a transparent layer with an eye-catching impression of depth.

In the furniture sector, shaping with CNC waterjet systems plays a fundamental role. With this technology, we not only manufacture the outer contour of the glass exactly into the defined shape, but also realize any cut-outs for hinges and handles, for example.

The special vertical range of manufacture of SCHOLLGLAS in the furniture sector also includes bonding of the glass to the carrier plates in the two-component bonding process as well as the assembly of handles or hinge plates.

  • Printing in screen or digital printing with ceramic or organic inks, e.g. frames or imitation bars
  • 2K bonding of glasses to carrier plates
